About

Whirlpools have been in use since man first discovered natural springs. Back then people would sit in the water and expose their bodies to the currents. The natural force of the water would sooth their muscles and other pains.

It was in the 1950’s that man first discovered a way to “can” the whirlpool. The Jacuzzi Brothers developed a portable hydrotherapy pump that could re-created the natural force of the water currents in any bathtub.

Today there is a wide range of manufacturers and products that simulate the rush of natural springs. They can be a permanent feature in a bathroom, a separate space outside (or inside) with a larger unit that holds multiple people or even a portable device that will turn any normal tub into a relaxing whirlpool. Although a whirlpool bath is specifically designed to have the water filled with each usage.

Modern technology has taken the whirlpool from a thing of nature to a thing of luxury to a thing of leisure.
